Hello, I’m Eason. Today my topic is my favorite sport------basketball.

I am crazy about playing basketball and I have played it for more than 5 years. sir/madam, do you like playing basketball?

1. Why do I enjoy playing basketball?

I like playing basketball not only because it is now very popular all over the world, but also because I am passionate about it

On a Saturday morning in 2005 while I was six, I watched a live NBA basketball game with my dad. It was at that time that I started to know basketball. The game was exciting and Michael Jordan was so amazing that I often watch NBA live games and play basketball with my Dad from then on.

I have benefited a lot from playing basketball.

Firstly, playing basketball requires team work. If players play individually without cooperating with others, they will not win the match. To win the game, everyone need trust each other, and I enjoy the feeling of being trusted very much.

Secondly, playing basketball is an aerobic exercise. If I can make playing

basketball as a hobby, I will become more flexible and my heart and muscles will get stronger than before. Now, I am the tallest in my grade and I am very proud of this.

2. How long have I played basketball?

I started to play basketball with my dad in 2005. However, I began to have formal basketball training until I joined the school basketball team in 2006. I have been playing basketball for 6 years.

I have learnt a lot about basketball from my coach who always tells us the importance of team-work. Each one is part of the team. A team-mate need cooperate with each other and trust each other, and I like the feeling of being trusted. So this team work game is more interesting and exciting than other individual games.

I also believe that playing basketball will benefit my health. If I keep playing, my heart and muscles will be stronger and my body will be more flexible. Mum says me that if I want to be an NBA Star, I must play very hard. Thus, I will not cease my step playing basketball.

3. Which basketball team in NBA do I prefer?

There are many good teams and excellent players in NBA. But I prefer Los Angeles Lakers to other basketball teams and I like Kobe best. Sir/Madam, have you heard about Kobe in Los Angeles Lakers? (展示湖人和科比的照片)

Kobe is my favorite basketball star. He has presented us very excellent performances during the whole season. The reason why Lakers is so successful is that they emphasize the team-work sprite.

4. What was the most unforgettable basketball match that I have ever attended?

The most unforgettable match that I’ve ever attended was the one with my school mates this spring. At that time, we had a three-to-three competition. I played for Class Eight and we got 3 points, however, our rival---Class Five got 4 points. Although, we were all depressed at that time, we did our best to catch up with them. However, we still lost the game because of our immature skills.

Although we were not the champion, we got a better understanding of the importance of team work and the spirit of supporting each other. If we want to win the match, we must cooperate with each other. So the next time when we had a basketball match with Class Two, we played harder and supported each other. We beat them at 9 to 0. We got a big applause from our classmates. How wonderful it was !

5. What will I do to improve my basketball skills this year?

To improve my skills, I need practice more and attend more matches this year.

On one hand, to strengthen my physical flexibility(身体的灵活性), I need exercise more to practice my skills of lay-up, jump shot, set shot and so on so forth.

On the other hand, to be an experienced center-forward (中锋), I will take part in more matches in my school team. From each match, I can get the feeling of being eager to win. I need calm down myself in face of hard competition.

6． My plan to watch the NBA games in person in the future.

If I have lots of money, I will go to Los Angles to watch Lakers’ performance in person. Los Angles is a beautiful city to the east coast of the Unite States. I have never been there before. I am planning my trip even I haven’t got enough money now.

Firstly, I need get some information about NBA games in advance, including the match schedule of Lakers, the NBA rules and some English NBA jargons.(术语)

Secondly, to make sure I can meet Kobe in Los Angles, I have to book tickets in advance.

Thirdly, I need to prepare some personal things for this trip, like my passport and visa, a guide book, an English dictionary, a map of Los Angles, iPod, clothes and so on.

In a word, I am looking forward to the trip of Los Angles in the future. But there is a key issue: I need financial support for the trip.
