摘要：A turbine and method of using the same to generate rotational power from adesired geothermal source from which a multi-phase pressurized and heated fluid isdischarged, which fluid contains steam and particles of water, and may contain particles ofsolid material. The turbine includes a rotor plate with a number of spaced discs securedto opposite sides thereof that are rotatably supported in a housing, and the housinghaving two laterally spaced sets of circumferentially disposed nozzle bodies situatedtherein that are each adjustable to define a convergent section, a throat and a divergingsection. The nozzle bodies are so adjustable that streams of fluid at maximum velocityfor a multi- phase fluid having particular characteristics as to heat, pressure and waterdroplet content discharge tangentially onto the two sets of spaced discs to flow throughthe spaces therebetween in spiral paths to discharge through openings in the centersthereof. The fluid as it pursues a spiral path exerts a drag on the discs, with the fluidlosing kinetic energy that is transferred to the discs, rotor plate and shaft to drive themas an integral unit. No substantial lateral force is exerted on seals in the turbine as thelateral force generated by one set of discs by pressurized fluid flowing through thespaces therebetween is cancelled out by a like and opposite force generated on the

other set of discs by the fluid.
