摘要：Metal coated molded polymer articles are described made from apolyoxymethylene polymer. In accordance with the present disclosure, the moldedarticles are produced from a polymer composition containing a functionalizedpolyoxymethylene polymer combined with a metal pigment. The functionalized
polyoxymethylene polymer may comprise a polyoxymethylene polymer that has asignificant amount of hydroxyl groups present in the terminal positions. The terminalpositions can be on the end of the polymer chain or on the side of the polymer chain. Inone embodiment, the metal coating is applied to the molded article using an electrolyticplating process. Electrolytic coatings applied to substrates made in accordance with thepresent disclosure have displayed excellent peel strengths.
