We have many traditional festivals in our nation. From the beginning to the end of the year, we have the Lantern Festival, Tomb-sweeping Day, Dragon Boat Festival, the Mid-autumn Festival and the Spring Festival, and exc. Each of the traditional festival has its own special meaning and great effects.
For the Lantern Festival, every family will eat rice-glue-ball with all family members together. It is focused on the reunion of the families which has the same significance with the Mid-autumn Festival. For the Tomb-sweeping Day, the later generations go to sweep the tomb of their forefathers. These actions can show one of our nation′straditional virtue —filial piety, and at the same time to spread the great spirit. For Dragon Boat Festival, we pay attention to this festival tocommemorate a famous poet named QuYuan who was a great patriot in our history. As for other festivals, they also have special meaning that all of us have known.
In these years, our country has been paying more and more attention to celebrate these traditional festivals even gave us a long holiday. From this, we can see our nation attach great significance to our traditional festivals.
Now, these is a question that is should a nation attach great significance to its own traditional festivals. Some people say “yes” while some people say “no”. People who say “no” said that the country in order to celebrate the festivals will spend more money and more time that affect the development of the nationaleconomy. But I do not think that is right. I am a supporter as I know there are necessity and benefits to attach great significance to our own traditional festivals. I have enumerated some special meaning of the traditional festivals. On the one hand, these meanings are not only including best wishes to our families and our friends but also have enormous influence on our mind and our behaviors which make us to get promote. On the other hand, these traditional festivals are our nation′wealth, we have the responsibility to protect and develop them. And if we do not attach the significance to these traditional festivals, some traditional virtue may fade away even we will lost these festivals which originally belong to us.
In fact, these traditional festivals are very interesting .We can play games such as boating in Dragon Boat Festival. We also can eat delicious foods like sweet-dumpling, mooncakes and others. I believe that if each of us can enjoy and celebrate these
festivals with heart, our life will become more colorful and more wonderful, and our nation′culture will become more rich.
