Disclosedare a position information acquisition method and device, the method comprising:receiving a signal characteristic and an identification of a to-be-positioned terminaltransmitted by each of a plurality of base stations, the signal characteristic of the basestation comprising signal power and additional characteristics, the additionalcharacteristics at least comprising the base station identification and the signal

transmission time of the base station; determining a relative power collection accordingto the signal power transmitted by the plurality of base stations, the relative powercollection comprising the relative power between any two of the plurality of basestations; and determining the position information of the terminal corresponding to theidentification of the terminal to be positioned according to the additional characteristicstransmitted by the plurality of base stations and the relative power collection. The devicecomprises: a first receiving module, a first determination module and a seconddetermination module. The present invention reduces position information acquisitionerror.
